Hi Christine . . It is interesting working with felting . . as it does behave like a paint in some ways . . since it is very much about the surface and relationship of the colours next to each other.
I've ventured into making a few works that are sculptural hats using the felting technique . . I've always enjoyed the idea of a wearable body sculpture.
